Description: BAGHDAD – Coalition forces successfully targeted and captured a wanted terrorist leader during a raid in Mahmudiyah July 27.

The terrorist is reported to be responsible for weapons, ammunition and explosives used to make improvised explosive devices. Intelligence indicates that this individual is also in command of his own terrorist cell.

This terrorist has also been linked to Al-Qaida in Iraq senior leaders, and has been reported to have received substantial amount of money to fund terrorist activities and to support recruiting efforts.

The assault force secured multiple buildings and detained the targeted individual without incident.

This and other recent raids in Mahmudiyah are helping Coalition forces get a clearer picture of the enemy network in the region, and how best to capture or eliminate them.
