Description: BAGHDAD – Coalition forces successfully targeted and captured all three terrorists that they were seeking, plus 10 suspects during a raid northwest of Ramadi August 3.

The targeted terrorists are associated with the al-Qaida in Iraq terrorist network in Ramadi which is known for improvised explosive device cells, kidnappings and suicide operations. One of the captured terrorists is a reported financier directly linked to the senior leadership of the local terrorist network.

The assault force quickly secured the target buildings and detained the men without incident. The troops also confiscated two computers on site. This and other operations by Iraqi and Coalition security forces are simultaneously degrading al-Qaida in Iraq’s network, and providing a clearer picture of the terrorist network in the region for future targeting.

Terrorists continue to deliberately place innocent Iraqi women and children in danger by their actions and presence. Though there were numerous woman and children were on site, none were harmed.
